Who built all these amazing tombs and carved them deep inside the mountains? It was a group of the most skilled workers and artists in history! They lived with their families in a secret, hidden village tucked between the mountains called Deir el-Medina. Their lives were very organized and comfortable; they had work days and days off, and they even wrote little letters to each other on small pieces of pottery to complain about the heat or ask for yummy food. They were friends and neighbors working together to create beauty that would live on for thousands of years!
