Pharaohs' Treasures in World Museums
The Towering Obelisk in Paris (France)
Right in the middle of the famous Concorde Square in Paris, France, stands a giant pharaonic obelisk that is thousands of years old! This obelisk traveled on a very long sea voyage all the way from the Luxor Temple in Egypt to arrive in France as a gift. The obelisk is carved from a single piece of hard pink granite and is completely covered in hieroglyphic drawings telling stories of kings. At the very top, they added a tiny pyramid painted with gold that sparkles under the sun, decorating the modern Paris sky with ancient magic!
