The Language of Secrets and Drawings (Hieroglyphics)
Words That Draw Pictures: What are Hieroglyphics?
Can you imagine if the letters you use for your homework were actually drawings of birds, eyes, and trees? That was the language of the Pharaohs! Instead of letters like A, B, and C, they used tiny pictures called Hieroglyphics, which means "sacred carvings." If they wanted to write the word "sun," they drew a circle, and for "water," they drew wavy lines like ocean waves. They had more than 700 different drawings to learn! Temple walls looked just like giant picture books telling wonderful stories about heroes, animals, and fun adventures.
