Pharaohs' Treasures in World Museums
The Ship That Flies and Doesn't Swim: The Solar Boat Museum
Right next to the Great Pyramid, scientists discovered a secret pit sealed off with massive rocks. When they opened it, they found an astonishing surprise: a giant wooden ship as long as a big building, taken apart into more than a thousand pieces! They put it back together just like a massive jigsaw puzzle, and it took them years to finish. This is King Khufu's Solar Boat, a ship that wasn't built to sail in the Nile waters, but made so the king could fly in it with the sun god through the sky among the stars! Now, it has been carefully moved to be displayed in the Grand Museum.
