Perfume That Melts on Your Head: Perfume Cones

This is one of the weirdest pharaonic beauty secrets! At big parties, guests would wear something that looked like a little cone or triangle made of beeswax on top of their heads, right over their wigs. This wax was scented with sweet flower oils! With the warm weather and the heat of the party, the wax would melt very slowly all night long, dripping gently onto their hair and clothes. It spread a beautiful, sweet smell everywhere they went! It was their clever way of smelling great all the time without having to carry perfume bottles.
