Sandals That Step on Bad Guys: Royal Shoes
While most kids and regular people loved walking barefoot on the soft sand of the Nile, kings wore very elegant shoes called sandals. Some were made from woven Papyrus, but kings like King Tutankhamun had sandals made entirely out of pure gold! The amazing and funny thing about King Tut's sandals is that he asked his artists to paint Egypt's enemies tied up with ropes right on the bottom of the soles! Why? So the king could stomp on his enemies with all his might every single time he took a step!
