The Happy Cat: The Goddess Bastet

Cats weren't just ordinary pets in Egypt; they were incredibly spoiled! The Pharaohs loved cats because they hunted mice and protected their wheat supplies. Because of this, they created a cat-headed goddess named Bastet. Bastet stood for joy, music, happiness, and protecting families and kids. In her very own city, they threw massive festivals where women sang, danced, and played happy music just to please the magical cat who guarded their homes and brought them lots of good luck!
