Colorful Pond Fish: The Tilapia
Do you have a glass fish tank in your room? The Pharaohs had massive tanks, but right in their gardens! They dug rectangular water pools and filled them with fresh Nile water, then put beautiful fish inside. The most famous one was called the Tilapia fish. They loved this fish because it would hide its tiny babies safely inside its mouth to protect them from danger, letting them out only when it was safe! People would sit for hours under the trees, watching the fish swim around the beautiful lotus flowers floating on the water in a perfectly calm and peaceful scene.
