The Pharaohs loved the sun very much and believed that when a king left our world, he needed a giant, strong staircase to climb up to the sky so he could live with the stars. If you look at a pyramid from far away, it looks just like golden sunbeams breaking through the clouds and shining down to earth—wide at the bottom and pointy at the very top. They wanted to build a stone staircase that would never ever break, making it a magical path connecting Earth and the sky forever!
