Wonders of the Pyramids and Stone Secrets
The Shining Peak Like a Mirror: The Pyramid Casing
If we hopped into a time machine and traveled back thousands of years, we wouldn't see the pyramids in the sandy yellow color we know today; we'd see them glowing a bright, snowy white! The Pharaohs covered the outside of the pyramids with a layer of super smooth, soft limestone, and they painted the top peak with a shiny metal like gold or electrum. When the sun rose, the pyramid reflected the light like a giant mirror, lighting up the entire desert! It shone so brightly it could be seen from very far away, looking exactly like a bright star that had fallen down to Earth.
